1. The Peddler Steakhouse
The Peddler is one of the great restaurants in Gatlinburg because its rich history gives it a fun atmosphere. When the building was constructed in 1958, it was meant to be a permanent home for a Gatlinburg merchant, Charles “Earl” Ogle, and his wife. In 1976, the building was renovated and turned into the popular restaurant that visitors know and love today. Even so, you can still see remnants of history all around. Starting with the outside, the restaurant’s sign features two millstones that Charles Ogle collected himself during his lifetime. On the inside, the structure’s original stone chimney sits in the middle of the dining room. As for food, it is a great spot for dinner! You can choose from many delicious entrees such as Grilled Salmon or Prime Rib. Pair them with a side dish and a delicious salad from the salad bar. Remember to save some of your appetite and get one of the sweeter things on the menu for dessert. Choices include the New York Cheesecake or Hot Blackberry Cobbler.
2. Cherokee Grill and Steakhouse
